Vasomotor Symptoms in menopause
Synonyms: vasomotor symptoms
Vasomotor symptoms is a clinical term covering hot flushes and night sweats, symptoms caused by impaired body-temperature regulation from estrogen fluctuations or deficiency. They are the most common menopausal symptom, experienced by 75-80% of women. For Malaysian women, intensity can be amplified by the tropical climate. Treatments include cooling measures, soy isoflavones, or hormone replacement therapy for severe cases.
