Bioidentical Hormones in menopause
Bioidentical hormones have the same chemical structure as hormones produced by the human body, typically referring to estradiol and micronised progesterone. Regulated bioidentical hormone replacement therapy (like the Estradot patch and Utrogestan capsule) is safe and well-evidenced. Be cautious of 'compounded bioidentical' products marketed outside regulation, as they are not consistently tested and have no evidence of being safer than standard hormone replacement therapy.
